FAQ's:

What is Shockwave Therapy?

Shockwave therapy (ESWT) is a non-invasive treatment that uses sound waves to stimulate healing in soft tissues, tendons, and bones. It’s especially helpful for chronic conditions by increasing blood flow, breaking down scar tissue, and supporting the body’s natural healing process.

Common conditions treated with shockwave include:

  • Plantar fasciitis

  • Achilles tendinopathy

  • Tennis or golfer’s elbow

  • Rotator cuff tendinopathy

  • Patellar tendinopathy (jumper’s knee)

  • Calcific shoulder tendinitis

What are treatment times and fees?

Each shockwave therapy session lasts about 20 minutes, including prescription of rehabilitative exercises. Most people need 3–6 sessions for best results.

Fees are R350 per session, and some medical aids may offer coverage. We'll discuss your treatment plan and costs with you beforehand.
